Introduction

There are situations where air-agitation of a tank is a good, quick solution. However, the cost of compressed air is often ignored, despite being very high. A very effective solution is to use the lower running costs of the Airjec to supply aerated water.

Application

A small flow of process water (typically <1300 L/min at 4-5 bar)  is used in the Airjec to draw in the air which is delivered through a ring within the tank.

Results

Agitation of tanks where otherwise fine solids would settle lowers the tendency for lumps and anaerobic zones.

In highly closed systems the introduction of air in this way reduces problems associated with low oxygen levels such as VFA generation.
